Nothing can be more cozy than a cup of steamy & frothy Hot Chocolate on a rainy day. This recipe brings in a delightful hit of "mocha" to the classic which is irresistibly delicious!!
HOMEMADE HOT CHOCOLATE is purely a "hug in a mug". It is warm, creamy, frothy and sooooo chocolaty!! It is a beautiful medley of milk, cream and chocolate with added flavours to make them much more interesting.
Who wouldn't want to curl up in a blanket on crisp wintery nights or refreshing breezy rainy days with their favourite movie or a book with a warm mug of HOT CHOCOLATE topped with frothy whipped cream!!! I mean that's the dream, right?
One thing that I have promised myself is to use less and less of packaged foods. And thereby I stopped using store-bought hot chocolate mix because home-made is so so much better, you can flavour it according to your needs and much more yummier. And for once you make this really easy and super delicious "my Mocha Hot Chocolate" you will keep making this more and more.
You need minimal ingredients to make this aromatic Mocha Hot Chocolate.
Let's get started.
What you need? (for 2 mugs of HOT CHOCOLATE)
Milk- 200 ml (a little less than 1 cup)
Fresh Cream - 100 grams (1/2 cup)
Chopped Dark Chocolate - 100 grams (1/2 cup + 2 tablespoons)
Sugar - 2 tablespoons
Instant Coffee Powder - 1 tablespoon
Salt - a pinch
Whipped cream (optional) - for topping
Directions:
- Start by taking a saucepan and pouring milk, cream, sugar, coffee powder and salt to it.
- Keep the pan on a medium flame and stir the mixture using whisk. Keep stirring continuously to avoid burning the bottom (as cream tends to burn if not stirred).
- Keep mixing so that everything is mixed together and turn off the flame as the first boil comes.
- Now add chopped chocolate to it and mix. Because the mixture is hot, it will melt away the chocolate.
- Now turn the flame on the while whisking continuously, bring the mixture to boil once and then turn it off.
- Your MOCHA HOT CHOCOLATE is ready.
- Now pour it in the desired mugs and enjoy.
- You can top it with whipped cream (it will taste just delicious) or marshmallows, etc.
