These Cheddar Cheese Button Crackers, I will not lie, were gone in about half an hour. Yes, these are that good. That punch of Cheese and subtly spiced, these are sure a hit.

For the deliciousness that these carry, they require minimum effort and just 6 ingredients to bring them to life.



Ingredients!

As you can see, with such basic ingredients, you can create one of the most yummy snack. All you need is good quality Cheddar cheese, bring in rest of the ingredients together and you'll be all set to make small cheesy buttons.

Even the making of crackers cannot be any simpler.


The making of Cheese Crackers!

Making the dough will not take more than 5-7 minutes. And that is it. Rest it in the refrigerate for a minimum of half an hour for all the flavours to enhance and for butter to set.

Once the dough has rested well, take it out and roll it on a clean surface. Roll it thin as these will puff up while baking. Cut out the desired shape, place it on the baking tray and bake them away!!

Just dang delicious!

All right, enough said, let's get to the recipe.


 

What you need?

Butter (cut in small pieces) - 1/4 cup (60 grams)

Grated Cheddar Cheese - a little more than 2 cups (225 grams)

Salt - 1/2 teaspoon

Black pepper powder - 1/4 teaspoon

Red Chilli Flakes (optional) - 1 tablespoon

Flour - 1 cup (125 grams)

Water - 2 tablespoons


Directions:

- Beat butter and cheese to bring them together. Use spatula for this process or use mixer blender.

- Add salt, pepper and chilli flakes and add them well.

- Now add flour in batches and keep mixing it well so that flour incorporates fully. Form a smooth dough.

- Now cling wrap the dough and chill in the refrigerator for a minimum of half an hour.

- While the dough is resting, pre-heat oven at 180* C for 10-12 minutes.

- Once the dough has completely rested, take it out and roll it out on a clean surface. Cut desired shapes and place them on the baking tray. Make sure to roll it thin as it tends to puff up while baking.

- Bake the crackers at 180*C for 13-15 minutes (depending on the size of the cracker that you have cut out). It should turn out beautifully golden and the edges should look crisp. DO NOT OVERBAKE as they will keep crisping up even after taking out from the oven.

- Let them cool down on baking tray for another 15 minutes and them remove them on cooling rack to cool them down completely. Serve immediately or store them in an airtight container.

- Delicious Cheddar Cheese Button Crackers are ready.
