"I am a lawyer turned chef"
Hi everyone.
I am Priyansha Singh and my hometown is in Lucknow.
My journey from being a lawyer to owning A.lil.MOUR had its own ups and downs.
Back in 2015, I completed my LL.M. from National Law school of India University (NLSIU, Bangalore) and I am a gold medalist of my batch. And therefore, almost all the brows went up when they heard about this flip in the work that I wanted to pursue.
After the completion of my higher studies, I struggled to figure out of what I really wanted to pursue as my career, should it be academics, litigation, corporate, etc. But nothing, trust me, NOTHING brought that spark inside me or made me completely satisfied into giving in and settling for the career options which were open.
I'd not say that doing something out of my education arena did not cross my mind but bringing that to reality seemed out of point, meaningless and honestly quite daunting. Coming from an academic family, such risks, sudden changes have not been a part of our growing up days. "You complete school, you pursue higher education, you do something meaningful from the education that you got".
But deep down I always knew that "Food" has been quite fascinating to me. My mother knew, my friends knew, everyone close to me knew that how i adore kitchen, baking, cooking something new, and bringing a smile with that plate. But thinking of it as a career never occurred to my mind.
Change of career happened after a year of my LL.M. thorugh my sister's and brother in law's support. I always knew how happy kitchen makes me, they just made me realise that if that's the case, then i should pursue this.
And after 2 years of work in the pastry kitchen (stories of which I'll share in other posts :)), I finally decided to own my little kitchen.
A.lil.MOUR is a crucial part of me, based in Bangalore, bringing delightful fresh seasonal treats to everyone from my little kitchen to you.
Much love,
Priyansha Singh
